The tips below are already included in your windows installation, here’s how to use them!

1 – Access password-protected apps quicker and easier

Did you know that there is a faster and more secure method to access password-protected apps & services in Windows. Windows Hello uses a few different methods of authentication for example, such as fingerprint scanner and facial recognition through webcam and if your device doesn’t support either of these you can create a pin number.

Steps to set up this feature.

1 – Click on the Start menu (or press windows key on the keyboard)

2 – Click on Settings | Accounts | Sign-in options

3 – Under the Manage how you sign in to your device section, select one of the three Windows Hello options.

Please note not all Windows 10 devices are eligible for all the options

2 – Windows Built-in emoji menu

Windows 10 has a built-in emoji menu that you can access at any moment with the simple press of a key. To access the emoji menu on your keyboard hold Windows-key & the period key (.) at the same time. Simple as that!

3 – Stop background apps to save laptop battery life

While you use your laptop, applications run in the background draining battery life without you even realizing. This isn’t always a bad thing as sometimes this is for useful reasons.

To control what applications run in the background and save yourself some battery life follow the steps below.

Steps to set up this feature.

1 – Click on the Start menu (or press windows key on the keyboard)

2 – Click on Settings | Privacy | Background apps

To disable all apps from running in the background switch the button that says “Let apps run in the background

You can also scroll through all the apps and individually turn off specific applications.
